The eControl Aga Cooker

EFFICIENT. CONTROLLABLE. REVOLUTIONARY.

We are very excited to introduce you to the new age of cast iron cooking; The eControl Series X.

Perfect for passionate cooks, the eco-conscious or a busy family household, the eControl Series X pairs the classic design, the tasty radiant-heat-cooked-food, with the controllability of modern appliances. Each of the original cast iron ovens are temperature controllable, as well as each hotplate. This gives you the ability to create two Roasting Ovens, two Boiling Plates, or a mixture of traditional cooking zones if you wish - it's the perfect cooker.

With upgraded insulation, reduced running costs and quicker heat up times, you will be hard pressed to find a more efficient Aga Cooker.

The eControl system is manufactured by independent industry professionals and can be installed inside classic Aga Cookers.

It is not endorsed by, or affiliated with the official AGA Rangemaster company.

HOW DOES THE ECONTROL SERIES X WORK?

Traditional Aga Range Cookers are designed to be left on 24/7. The new eControl system changes this. It cooks in exactly the same way as a traditional model of Aga Cooker, with its cast iron ovens and gentle radiant heat, but inside there are modern electrical elements. These eControl elements are strategically placed around the cast iron to mimic the heat distribution whilst keeping the traditional cooking techniques of years past. This placement of the elements allows for a much more efficient heat conduction around the cooker, which in turn, improves heat up times and reduces running costs.

What are the flue requirements?

There are no flue requirements for our eControl Aga Range Cookers. We do have a few options available, depending on your kitchen layout and design.

Room Venting

This is our standard setup. You will have a small vented shroud sitting at the back of your enamel top plate, in-between the two lids. This is where the 28mm oven vent pipe will terminate. Room venting allows you to place your Aga Range Cooker anywhere in the room, as well as bringing a small amount of hot air back into the kitchen. You'll never forget that tray of food at the back of the simmering oven too.

External Venting

Your eControl Aga Range Cooker can be externally vented. This is slightly more tricky depending on the layout of your house. Simply, a 28mm copper pipe is to be routed from the AGA then through an external wall. If there is a direct run horizontally from the back of the cooker, a simple 90 degree elbow or a T-piece would be placed on the end of the pipe. If it is more complex, a fan system would be installed and wired into your control panel.

ECONTROL SERIES X - HEAT UP TIMES AND TEMPERATURES.

Everybody will use the eControl system differently. Some users will opt to keep the hotplates on for ambient warmth, others will turn them off completely, turn the Aga Range Cooker to ECO, and focus on running as cheaply as possible.

For the most efficient running of the eControl system, we recommend turning the Aga Range Cooker off at night, and using the hotplates as little as possible (also turning them off completely). If you're using your ovens or hotplates more than 3 times throughout the day, we recommend keeping one on constantly, to save heating from cold each time. Even running them at a lower 'slumber' temperature and turning up before use would be sufficient. Make sure you check your energy supplier tariff to get the best kw/hr price available.

ECONTROL SERIES X HEAT UP TIMES

Top Oven

(from cold) – Roasting (220c) in 62mins.

(from cold) - Baking (180c) in 44mins.

(from Eco) – Roasting (220c) in 20mins.

Hotplates

(from cold) – Cooking temp in 8-10mins.

(from cold) - Boiling in 14mins.

(from Eco) – Full Temperature in 5mins.

INSTAHOB available to replace Right Hand hotplate with a ceramic electric hob.

As you can see from the heat-up times, utilising ECO mode in-between cooking times can reduce your waiting times whilst still reducing your running costs vs 24/7 full temperature usage.

Simmering (Bottom RH) Oven: 0 to 220c
