Flexible, Efficient and Traditional.

Electric Conversions For Aga Cookers.

With Controllable Electric Systems, you have two main choices - the "ElectricKit" or the "eControl".

They both use multiple electric elements above and below the traditional aga cast iron ovens, and inside new hotplate units. These elements allow flexibility but also extremely improved heat up times compared to older oil, gas or 13amp models.

Of course, both of these systems have advantages and considerations depending on what you're looking to get from your converted Aga Cooker.

We'll run through the options to hopefully demystify the choices!

The ElectricKit Classic

Available for most older styles of Aga Cooker, this system is popular for those who like the physical dials on the control panel and less 'faff' when it comes to technology.

Advantages of ElectricKit Classic:

  • Two steel hotplates, which are controllable up to 370c.
  • Physical dials on the control panel with one temperature screen for the top oven.
  • Simple controls which are arguably easier to use.
  • Hotplate design looks similar to traditional oil and gas aga cookers.
  • Top Oven at baking temperature in 50 minutes, Hotplate at simmering in 13 minutess.
  • Induction upgrade available for the left-hand hotplate.

Considerations for ElectricKit Classic:

  • Only one temperature display for the top oven (2 and 4 oven models).
  • No temperature displays on 3-oven models.
  • Bottom right oven is 'uncontrollable' on 3-oven models.
  • Hotplates use thermostats which can burn out if they're left above simmering temperature when the lids are closed.
  • No external screen available.

The ElectricKit Advanced

Our most popular system, for good reason! Available for mainly newer models of aga cooker, the Advanced kit has a full touchscreen control panel, with integrated Wifi control, on/off scheduling for the ovens and automatic hotplate temperature reduction if accidentally left higher than boiling.

Advantages of ElectricKit Advanced:

  • Two larger steel hotplates with thin chrome expansion rings. One hotplate is 2.2kW, the other 1.4kw (they can both reach 370c).
  • Full touchscreen control panel, located behind the main aga control door.
  • Optional external screen upgrade, for easier access on the worktop or wall-mounted.
  • Visible temperatures of each area of the cooker (current and target temp).
  • Automatic hotplate temp reduction if left higher than boiling when the lids are closed.
  • Top Oven at baking temperature in 50 minutes. Hotplate at simmering in 10 minutes.
  • Adjustable 'rest' temperatures for automatically reducing the temperature overnight or in-between cooking periods.
  • Induction and Radiant (Ceramic) hob upgrades available.
  • High-Temperature Hotcupboard available for 4-oven models, allowing temperatures up to 250c in the top left oven.
  • No need to switch between 'modes' to allow remote operation. If you need to rush out of the house, simply open the app to turn the cooker off, or adjust temperatures remotely.

Considerations of ElectricKit Advanced:

  • Only available for 2 and 4 oven models.
  • Due to element placement, grilling should be done at the top of the bottom oven.
  • The bottom right oven will always be 35% cooler than whatever the top right oven is set to.
  • Traditional setup of a Roasting Oven with Simmering Oven below, is unavailable (the bottom oven will be hotter than traditional simmering temperature if the top oven is set to roasting).
