If you're looking for a flexible, fast electric range cooker, entrenched in British history, the ESSE is the perfect cooker for you.

High-Power Integrated Grill

Each ESSE Electric Cooker has an integrated grilling element inside the top oven, capable of pushing out 3000w of pure heat.

Neatly concealed behind the heavy insulated oven door, the grilling element is a high-powered piece of modern technology, hidden inside a traditional range cooker.

Operated by its own physical dial inside the control panel, the integrated ESSE grill is a simple way to crisp or grill dishes. For safety and to prevent any overheating, the main top oven element will switch off once the grill is in use.

Your oven door should be open whenever you are grilling and once your grill is switched off, the oven elements will automatically re-engage and keep your top oven at your normal operating temperature.

British-Made Cookers

Esse is quintessentially British. With over 160 years of manufacturing stoves and range cookers behind them, the design is iconic.

Thoughtful engineering at its finest.

As range cooker engineers, we love ESSE cookers because of their thoughtful design. If any replacements or repairs are needed over the lifetime of the cooker, parts are easily accessible. The delivery is simpler with their built in wheels, and the 2 x 13amp plugs are as easy to install as it gets.

Pair their design choices with their business ethos of ever-evolving and improving on previous pain-points, their cookers are a testament to British Engineering.

Modern But Traditional

The ESSE Ranges have a traditional design, with modern induction technology hidden inside. All of the 1m wide electric models come with an induction hotplate as standard.

On the T models, there is a sleek circular induction hob, hidden beneath the left-hand traditional domed lid. The right-hand lid covers the cast iron hotplate (which is larger than an Aga Cooker hotplate!).

On the X models, you have a 3-zone square induction unit, hidden under the large left-hand square lids. Under the right-hand lid, you have a cast iron hotplate surrounded by a metal conduction plate, to give additional cooking space.

Deeper Ovens

Deep ovens means more even cooking. When the oven door is opened, the heat loss is minimal.

The roasting oven in our Refurbished Aga Cookers is smaller than that found in an ESSE Cooker. The new PRO models have THREE of these huge ovens - all with their own 'wrap around' heating elements for perfect cooking results.

The main oven in an ESSE is also taller in size than a typical Everhot oven. The standard ESSE models have two smaller 34L bottom ovens which are slightly wider than the ovens on our Aga Cooker models.

Incredible Heat Up Times

Unrivalled across the industry, the ESSE ovens can reach roasting temperature in 15 minutes!

This is down to their unique Power Share Technology, which uses the full 3kw wrap around oven element to heat the oven evenly - unlike competitor models that use much smaller oven elements (as little as 0.5kw!) and rely on the grill to boost temperature quickly.

Wood-Burning Models

These are perfect for off-grid living or those looking for the traditional solid fuel range experience.

The 1000W runs on wood and can be fitted with an internal hot water boiler to run domestic hot water, with a heat output of 7.6kW.

With catalytic technology inside, the ESSE 1000w is their cleanest wood-burning model EVER, and has an energy performance of over 80%, with minimal ash residue.

Here's a compilation of the most frequently asked questions about ESSE Cookers:

  • What Fuels do ESSE Cookers use?

ESSE Cookers are available in either electric or solid fuel.

Their 600 and 1000 T and X models are all electric, with their 1000W boasting the cleanest burning wood-fired model they've ever made.

The electric models are perfect for that 'all round' even, unparelled cooking performance and efficient heat up times compared to our other range cooker offerings.

  • Can my ESSE Cooker heat my room?

Yes! The ESSE Cookers are designed to be able to run 24/7 if preferred, and 'rest' in a slumber mode for efficiency.

With it's controllable electric system, you can choose which temperature your ovens and hotplates are left at - putting you in direct control of the heat output into the room.

In the warmer months, you can turn the cooker off completely, or use one oven for day-to-day cooking alongside the induction hob, if applicable.

Our ESSE Wood-Fired Cook Stoves are incredible for room heat. Our Ironheart model heats our large showroom perfectly, with its 7kW heat output.

  • Are ESSE Cookers Expensive to Run?

Controllability is at the heart of an ESSE Cooker - you control your running costs.

Most customers find their electric ESSE can run between £10 and £20 per week, using the slumber mode in-between uses.

Running costs can be further reduced by utilising the efficient induction hob (available on most models), instead of boosting the whole cooker temperature.

Our Wood-Fired ESSE Cookers consume approximately 2.2kg of wood every hour and burn extremely cleanly.

  • How Fast do ESSE Cookers Heat Up?

The patented ESSE 'wrap around' electric elements mean extremely fast heat up times.

From slumber, your top oven will reach Roasting Temperature in just 15 minutes and your hotplate to Simmering Temperature in 7 minutes.

  • How Are ESSE Cookers Installed?

All ESSE Cookers are professionally assembled at their historic foundry and factory in Barnoldswick.

They are delivered in once piece, to be manoeuvred into place and simply plugged in.

You can choose to collect your cooker from our showroom, or we can arrange delivery/installation for you by the ESSE Delivery Team.

  • What are the Power Requirement for ESSE Cookers?

The electric ESSE models all run from UK household plugs. The smaller 600 models use one plug, whereas the larger models use two or three plugs.

Their 'power share' technology means that the cookers total wattage is limited at any one time, to eliminate the need for higher power supply cables. This also helps when utilising solar or battery power to run your ESSE Cooker.

  • What Maintenance is Required?

There are no servicing requirements for electric Esse Cookers - a welcome change from fossil fuel ranges!

You can expect to change some consumables over the lifespan of the cooker (door rope seals etc), but these are easily changed and ESSE can send parts direct to you to fit.

Your ESSE comes with a 2-year manufacturers warranty.
