Esse Running Costs
How Much Does it Cost to Run an Esse Cooker?
With ever increasing energy costs, efficiency is important. Luckily, the Esse is designed to be efficient, with it's 'slumber' mode and induction hobs as standard.
Let's take a look at the running costs of Esse Cookers, using a standard UK energy tariff.
How Much Does an Esse Cost to Run?
Esse Cookers are designed to be 'always on'. Initially, you might think that means it would be less efficient - but the secret is in how an Esse cooks food.
The Esse ovens work best when they're saturated with some heat, and keeping some amount of heat inside the castings helps to reduce any chance of rust forming if they're turned on/off from cold.
Every Esse cooker will have a minimum 'slumber' setting. This gives you lower temperatures in each zone of the cooker, whilst still giving our gentle ambient heat (but not too much to overwhelm in the summer months!). With it's incredibly fast heat up times, pre-heating is a doddle..
There are customers who prefer to leave their top oven on constantly at a higher temperature, or their cast iron plate on a simmering temperature 24/7 for more heat into the room. This is perfectly fine, although the running cost will reflect the increase in lost heat into the room.
