The 2 Oven Aga Cooker
The Day-to-Day Family Favourite
The 2 oven Aga range cooker comes with 2 large ovens, A roasting oven and a simmering oven. Each of these ovens has the dimensions W:349mm x H:254mm x D:495mm.
Each Aga range cooker is cast individually and has their own 'personality' and idiosyncrasies. The joy of owning an Aga range cooker is building a relationship with it, knowing the ins and outs of your cooker and working with it to create amazing memories. Traditional models are designed to be on 24/7 and once set, they generally require no adjustments.
On Traditional Oil, Gas and 13amp models, the roasting oven has an average temperature of between 220c-240c (depending on the shelf position inside the oven) and the simmering oven is around 140c. These are average temperates and they will fluctuate slightly.
On our controllable eControl Cookers, each oven can be turned on or off, as well as manual temperature control for reduced running costs or less ambient heat in the warmer months.
The 2 oven Aga range cooker also comes with 2 hotplates for pots and pans. The two hot plates (traditionally with boiling on the left and simmering on the right) give you enough space for up to 6 pans between them.- ideal for entertaining! Our controllable Aga range cookers allow these temperatures to be adjusted, or turned off completely to save running costs.
The hot spot is your boiling plate and the simmer spot is for simmering! Your Boiling Plate at optimum temperature will be approximately 315c. Your Simmering Plate will be around 100c cooler, at approximately 215c. Some Aga Cookers run slightly hotter or cooler than others - every model is different! The temperatures will drop once your lids are open but the golden rule of Aga Range Cooker Cooking is that 80% of cooking is to be done in the ovens and only 20% on the spots. Each of them are big enough to fit 3 average sized saucepans so you'll have all your bases covered for big feeds!
