ElectricKit Hob Upgrades
INDUCTION, CERAMIC AND TWIN HOB UNITS
The ElectricKit Hob Upgrades instantly upgrade your Aga Cooker to a more modern companion.
With a range of options to suit your preferred style of cooking, the ElectricKit Induction, Ceramic or High-Power Hotplates will add modern cooking to your Aga Cooker.
The ElectricKit Induction Hob
The induction hotplate is a single-zone induction unit, which replaces your left-hand boiling hotplate on your ElectricKit Conversion system. It is only available for the left-hand side of the cooker, as the heat from the ovens on the right-hand side would be too intense for correct operation.
We supply the 1.6kW version as standard, but there is also a higher power 3kW version available.
The 1.6kW Induction Hob wires into the main ElectricKit control panel, and provides settings from P1 up to P5.
The 3kW Induction Hob requires an additional plug socket and provides settings from P1 up to P8.
With feedback from hundreds of conversions, the 1.6kW version is more than adequate for boiling, frying and searing. They can provide a rolling simmer to a fierce boil, with magnetic technology instantly heating your pan or kettle.
The ON/OFF control and temperature adjustments are integrated directly into the induction hob, using touchscreen controls (no bending down to adjust the temperature).
Quick Facts:
- Induction is only available under the left-hand lid.

- Induction hobs are only compatible with the ElectricKit Classic or the ElectricKit Advanced.

As with any Induction Hob unit, anyone with a cardiac pacemaker or any other type of electrical implant (such as insulin pumps), should consult their doctor or implant manufacturer to ensure that it would not be affected by Induction Electromagnetic Fields before using the hob.
The ElectricKit Ceramic Radiant Hob
The Ceramic 'Radiant Heat' hob is a brilliant upgrade for your ElectricKit Advanced system.
It can replace the left-hand or the right-hand hotplate (or both!) and provide lots of control. With 24 settings, and an expandable cooking zone, it's the most flexible upgrade available for your hotplates.
At full power, with both zones engaged, it will pull a max of 2.8kW. This may 'upgrade' the required electrical supply for your ElectricKit Advanced installation. Alternatively, the ceramic hob can run from an additional plug socket near the Aga.
Due to the high range of temperatures available, if the hob is accidentally left at any setting above 15, it will automatically turn itself down to setting 12 after an hour. It should not be left on when the lid is closed.
The ON/OFF control and temperature adjustments are integrated into the main control panel of the ElectricKit System, and cannot be remotely controlled for safety reasons.

The Solid ElectricKit Hotplates
As standard, you'll have two solid hotplates with your ElectricKit system. These are both controllable up to approximately 370c, and use conduction to heat your pan (like the traditional Aga hotplates). Each solid hotplate has a dense, coiled heating element underneath, meaning your hotplate usage doesn't affect your oven temperature.
The solid hotplates have settings from 1-8, with setting 4 mirroring traditional 'simmering' temperatures and setting 6 mirroring traditional 'boiling' temperatures.
With the ElectricKit Classic system, you'll have a slightly different design to the one shown here. They are both 1.4kW in power and will reach simmering temperature in around 13 minutes. You must turn these down to setting 4 or below (or off) when the lids are closed. If you accidentally forget, the thermostats can become damaged and require an 'out of warranty' repair.
With the ElectricKit Advanced system, you'll have two slightly larger hotplates (shown here). The left-hand hotplate is 2.2kW and the right-hand hotplate is 1.4kW, meaning that the left-hand hotplate will heat slightly faster. It will reach simmering temperature in around 10 minutes. You should turn these down to setting 6 or lower when the lids are closed. If you accidentally forget, they will automatically reduce in temperature after a couple of hours.
The ON/OFF control and temperature adjustments are integrated into the main control panel of the ElectricKit System, and cannot be remotely controlled for safety reasons.
For ElectricKit Advanced users, you can choose to upgrade your right-hand hotplate to a higher-power 2.2kW version if preferred.

The ElectricKit Twin-Zone Warming Plate Hob
The Twin Zone Warming Plate Hob, is an upgrade for 4-oven or 5-oven models - those with the 'high-temperature' hotcupboard and those with the standard hotcupboard setup.
It replaces the standard metal warming plate, and provides two independent ceramic hob zones with dials from 1 to 6.
The twin zone hob is mostly used on post-1995 and post-2000 models, but can be supplied with an infill strip for older types of Aga Cooker if needed.
This unit needs a separate plug socket from the Aga Cooker, ideally on the left-hand side. It is independent of the main cooker, and has no controls on the main control panel - your two dials are located directly on the hob unit.

The Independent Warming Plate
On 4 and 5-oven ElectricKit Systems, you have a standard metal warming plate above the left-hand ovens. This receives heat whenever the ovens are turned on - due to the hot air rising through the cavity.
Available for ElectricKit Advanced systems only, the independent warming plate upgrade turns this standard plate into an on/off version, independent on the ovens below. You can choose to only heat the warming plate, rather than heating the whole left-hand oven section.
The element is a small 250w element pad which adheres to the underside of the warming plate.
The ON/OFF control is integrated into the main control panel of the ElectricKit Advanced System, and is not adjustable in temperature.
Quick Facts:
- Available for 4-oven and 5-oven ElectricKit Advanced models.
- Available with the standard hotcupboard ovens, and the high-temperature hotcupboard upgrade.
- Allows ON/OFF control of your warming plate, independent of the ovens below.
- Controls are located on the main control panel of the ElectricKit system.
- When your ovens are on, you may still feel heat rising up through the oven unit, even if your warming plate is off.
