Oil & Gas Aga Cookers

With brand new models no longer available, our Refurbished Oil and Gas Aga Cookers still hold a place in the hearts of traditionalists, looking for an 'always on' fossil fuel Aga model.

Welcoming Warmth.

Our Refurbished Oil and Gas Aga Cookers are popular with those looking for 'off-grid' solutions, built to last through power outages and heating the home.

Their 'always on' design leads to excess heat 'leaking' from the ovens and hotplates, which in turn radiates lots of warmth into your room.

Always On Design.

Our fossil fuel Aga models are all designed to run 24/7, with limited controllability. Using a single heat source, the cooker will heat in around 7hrs from cold. Once the cooker is up to temperature, you'll have set temperatures in each oven and hotplate, with a thermostat regulating the flow of fuel into the cooker.

Traditional Aga Cooking.

As classic as you can get with an Aga Cooker. Based on the original solid fuel design, the single heat source saturates the ovens and hotplates with heat. If your hotplates are used, the heat inside the ovens will drop and vice versa. This is why cooking on a traditional Aga is sometimes known as an art form!

Oil and Gas Aga Cooker Features:

  • Boiling Plate
  • Simmer Plate
  • Roasting Oven
  • Simmering Oven
  • Warming Oven (4-Oven Models)
  • Baking Oven (3 and 4-Oven Models)

Advantages & Disadvantages

In line with out business ethos of transparency, we've listed some reasons why you'd choose a fossil fuel model, vs some considerations.

Advantages:

  • Traditional Aga Range cooking style.
  • Always on and ready to use.
  • Thermostatically controlled, with automatic heat recovery.
  • Lots of ambient warmth into the room.
  • Not reliant on Electricity.
  • Oven cooking smells are extracted through the flue system.
  • Flue system will heat and create 'updraught' for pulling moisture from the ovens.

Considerations:

  • Reliant on Fossil Fuels.
  • Cooking on the hotplates will reduce oven temperature.
  • Non-Controllable in temperature. All on or all off.
  • Ambient Heat may be unbearable in hotter months.
  • Long heat-up times (around 7 hours from cold).
  • Flue requirements can be extensive and costly to adhere to regulations.
  • Minimum 6-month or yearly servicing is mandatory.
  • You need a reliable, experienced local aga service engineer for frequent servicing and maintenance.
  • Products of combustion may require a Carbon Monoxide detector for safety.
  • Windy weather can affect the operation of the oil and gas burner, potentially causing lighting issues.
